Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
Send us your questions and we will add them to our list, if a FAQ.
Q: Does Pioneer do business in the USA?
A: We currently only do business within Canada.
Q: Does PVC leach into the sample as well as absorb product being sampled?
A: Medical grade PVC is the same PVC used in the manufacturing of catheters, used in medical procedures. Our PVC is
equal to Polyethylene properties. Recently we ran the most extensive spike
test available, under method 8260B and 8270. Results on our PVC were equal
to polyethylene, in all areas recognized.
In addition the time that the disposable bailer comes in contact with the sample is not long enough to cause any adverse reaction. Thus resulting in a no cross contamination issue. Test results are available for your company upon request.
Q: The ClearView
PVC bailers are not weighted, how well do they sink?
A:They sink as well if not better than any
single weighted bailer on the market to date. PVC naturally sinks due to
specific gravity in water. In addition, Clear View bailers have no weights,
to block the flow of the sample being taken or the purging of the bailer,
which results in quicker sampling and purging time.
Q: I have been using
a Polyethylene micro bailer, which always seems to be bowed thus, causing
the bailer to hang up occasionally. Last week I had poly hang up and lost
it in the well. Do you make a micro bailer and does it bow, like the ones
I have been using?
A: Clear View manufactures .46" and
.70" bailers in three and four foot lengths. Our micro bailers are
made of the highest quality medical grade PVC. This allows the bailers to
maintain its shape, deterring the bailer from bending and hanging up in
the well. In addition, Geoprobe had tested our micro bailers and said, "the
micro bailers work great and retrieved full samples without hanging up."
Q: I love to use
your Clear-View bailers and have learned that you need to occasional unseat
the ball. Not that it is a big deal but do you have any ideas for me to
keep the ball from doing this\?
A: Great question! But, you will not have
to worry about that any more. Recently, we made a mold change, which resulted
in NO sticking of the ball ever again.
Q: My company has
been using all different types of locking plugs over the years. Recently
we received a sample of your T- Plug. How does your plug differ from other
plugs?
A: First of all our locking I.D. plug truly
locks the well. I challenge any one to prove otherwise. In addition our
plug is manufactured out of a glass reinforced polymer, for additional strength.
We incorporated a large wing nut design, for ease of installation and removal.
The plug is water tight, florescent orange (helps locate well) and are priced
to you save money.
Q: I have been using
your bailer for three years and must say they work very well. My question
to you is, do you offer the Clear-View in larger sizes for greater volumes?
A: Yes we do. We have Clear-View Bailers
in 1.5' x 4' and 7' sizes. Also we have 3.33" x 3' that holds up to
5100 ml.
Q: I have a well
with about a foot of hydrocarbons to recover. Do you have an inexpensive
means of retrieving that product?
A: We offer a hydrocarbon recovery bailer.
We use a polyethylene ball, which floats in water, but sinks in hydrocarbons.
Example; When you lower the bailer in the well and capture both water and
hydrocarbons, the bailer will release the water, but will capture hydrocarbons
to be removed.
